Businesses – Purchase an Ad
Dear Local Business Owner or Manager:
The Nanaimo Artwalk is a major event in the cultural landscape of our city. It brings the
community together in a colourful way and is a boost for our downtown economy. This year
the Artwalk will be on Saturday, December 2 (10 am – 4 pm) and Sunday, December 3
(noon – 4 pm). We invite businesses to participate in Artwalk in any of the following ways:
Host an Artist
Venues that host artist(s) benefit from increased foot traffic and recognition as a supporter of the arts.
Each artist is responsible for arranging their venue and negotiating the details with the individual
business. Generally, a company commits to offering space to display the art, allowing the artist on-site
for the event’s duration, and providing access ahead of time for the artist to set up.

Join in the Spirit of the Event
We invite you to get creative and show your support for Artwalk! Perhaps a drink or food
special with an Artwalk theme, offer a discount for people showing their Event Guide or
create a window display that reflects the fun and creative spirit of Artwalk.
Promote your Organization
Your ad will benefit your business and help offset event costs. Consider offering a discount or promotion
within your ad. We will print at least 2,000 brochures distributed throughout Nanaimo and area – just in
time for Christmas shopping!
