I was out for a drive on a rainy day, driving down roads I had never been on before – driving close to the ocean looking for beach access. I found the perfect wet air beach, secluded and so quiet. I wasn’t sure what kind of photo/sketch I might get next to the grey ocean and grey sky when the clouds lightened and I knew I had the perfect reference for my next painting Beachcombing after the Rain.
