This work was created by layering oil pastels with layers of varnish in order to build up colour intensity and surface. “Sealight” was inspired by the artist’s arrival to Vancouver Island- an event that blended uncertainty with hope, and where a storm of stored up emotion and dreaming could finally spill over and spread into reality and freedom.
