The Mother and the Bear (2024) is a comedic drama about Sara, an overbearing Korean mother who flies to Winnipeg to care for her daughter, Sumi, who is in a coma after a freak accident. While waiting for Sumi to wake, Sara navigates cultural alienation by meddling in her daughter’s life, including trying to find her a husband.
