Enter the 2025 Islands Short Fiction Review

Submissions for the 2025 ISFR are now closed.

Online registration was open from: February 24 to March 15, 2025 at 11:59 pm.

There is no entry fee for the Junior or Youth categories, and said categories may only submit one story. The entry fee for Adults is $35 per story ($10 for NAC members), with no limit on the number of stories you can enter.

Please note* We encourage emerging writers to submit, and request that if you have previous publications with the NAC or an otherwise established publication record, to leave the floor to these new writers with limited publications. Thank you for your understanding.

Junior: 12 and under
Youth: 13-18
Adult: 19+

Please note that this is a regional contest open only to authors living on Vancouver Island or the Gulf Islands. Before entering your work in the Islands Short Fiction Review, please read the full Entry Rules here.

Please submit in 12 pt font, Times New Roman or Garamond, with indented paragraphs, and double spaced. Our judges look forward to reading your submission!
