Beginner scribblers, seasoned professional artists, everyone in-between! Join us for another Nanaimo Sketch Club meetup, where people feel free to work on their sketch practice and connect with like-minded people in a friendly, inclusive, supportive environment. For this free event, meet in the parking lot outside Bowen Park Complex, near the lawn bowling building, for a non-guided sketching and chit-chat session, for about two hours. There are some interesting buildings here, as well as the gorgeous park. We’ll try to get back together around noon to take a group snap of our sketches - but if you feel you don't want to participate in that, that's totally fine. Feel free to post your sketches so we can see what you saw. Bring: Your sketchbook, your favourite drawing / painting implements, and a portable chair. 

Looking for a fun, creative, and family-friendly activity during your Commercial Street Night Market stroll? Join the Nanaimo Arts Council and Collage Club Nanaimo inside the Nanaimo Art Gallery’s dedicated Art Lab space for a hands-on art demonstration.  Led by talented featured collage artist Bella, who leads the Nanaimo Collage Club, this interactive evening is entirely free and open to children, families, and creators of all ages and skill levels. Drop in anytime during the night market to explore the tactile world of collage, experiment with new techniques, or simply drop by to watch the demo and say hello to the team! It should take about 15-20 minutes to complete the activity of the night, and we would love to see you there and create something beautiful together.
